Joe is a native of Buffalo, NY and has lived in the Philadelphia region since August of 2003. He received his Bachelor's degree from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, PA and has been serving at Spring Valley in a variety of roles since January 2007. Joe has been the Lead Pastor at Spring Valley since June of 2011. Joe's true passion is to challenge, encourage, and help people learn to follow Jesus. He believes that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope for every person on the planet and that life dramatically changes when you follow Jesus. In his spare time Joe likes to cook, play golf, read, and be continually disappointed with the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Joe's favorite people are his wife, Cheryl, and his three kids: Joseph, Lucy, and Olivia.
Andrew grew up in Phoenixville and received his Bachelor's degree from University of Valley Forge. He recently completed his Master's degree at Biblical Seminary. Andrew is passionate about seeing people's lives changed by Jesus, connecting people into the life of Spring Valley, and kayaking. Andrew and his wife, Angela, have a daughter named Sophia and a trouble-making dog named Bella.
After graduating from Valley Forge Christian College in 1997, David went on to Princeton Theological Seminary for his M.Div. He then worked at Promise Ministries International for 18 years, planted multiple churches, conceptualized and spearheaded multiple school projects in Latin America. In 2011 David and his wife felt a calling to Ecuador specifically for Business as Missions and moved to Guayaquil, Ecuador with the family. After a life-altering accident on Jan 7, 2013, David and his family had to return to the U.S. David is married to his wife, Rebekah, and has 4 children, Lauren, Taylor, Nichole, and Eli.
Tyler White is originally from Warren, Pennsylvania. Tyler is a recent graduate of the University of Valley Forge with a degree in Children’s Ministry. He is very passionate about seeing children learn about Jesus and helping them continue to grow further in that relationship with Him. He also loves to build relationships and has a heart to reach children in the community that do not know about Jesus. Tyler enjoys fishing, swimming, and watching the Dallas Cowboys, and he recently married his beautiful wife, Sandy.
Brandon Schauer came to help serve at Spring Valley Community Church during his freshman year at the University of Valley Forge in the fall of 2007 where he met his wonderful wife, Laurie. He loves any kind of adventures that involve running, biking, kayaking, or really anything outdoors! Brandon is now the Youth Director at Spring Valley as well as a father of two little girls, Emma and Lily.
Jeff was raised in Buffalo, New York and moved to Pennsylvania in 2007. He has a Marketing degree from Niagara University and an English Education degree from Immaculata University. Currently, Jeff works full-time at American Bible Society as a writer and enjoys playing golf and music in his free time. He and his wife, Becky live in Royersford with their son, Charlie and dog, Henry.
Carrie grew up in the small town of Caribou, in northern Maine. She moved to Pennsylvania to attend college in 2003, and has lived there ever since. She graduated from the University of Valley Forge in 2007 with a degree in Youth Ministry, and entered into full-time ministry as a youth pastor. After years in youth ministry, Carrie became the Professor of Youth and Family Studies at the University of Valley Forge. She is passionate about sharing Jesus with the next generation, training and equipping leaders/pastors, and helping others stay organized in ministry. She enjoys mentoring, hiking, and meeting new people.
Barry grew up in northern New Jersey before graduating from Muhlenberg College where he also met his wife, Barbara. After completing a Master's Degree in Elementary Education at Lehigh University, he taught in public schools in New Mexico and Pennsylvania for 11 years. Later he became a partner in the family retail lumberyard business back in NJ, during which time he also earned his license to preach from the Assemblies of God at Global University. In 2005, he and Barbara were invited to move to Royersford to become part of the founding team at SVCC. He enjoys almost any outdoor activity especially hiking and gardening. His passion is to see people connecting and serving one another as members of the church body, and serving the needy in our community at large; especially single mothers. He has two grown children; a son who serves as an international basketball coach and a daughter who teaches nursing at Eastern University. He and Barbara have been blessed with 5 grandchildren.
Dick was raised in Nebraska and earned a Bachelor of Science from North Central University in 1981. Dick has served in Children’s Ministry as a volunteer, dad, Children’s Pastor, and consultant since 1975. He went on to earn his Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from the University of Valley forge and his Doctor of Ministry from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Dr. Gruber loves working with children and those who serve them. Dick and his wife, Darlene, have four children and eleven grandchildren.
